Attend
a Bridal Show
By Sally Manglicmot - Author of the 'Wedding
Planning Workbook' & Founder of 'Weddings A Breeze'
Wedding Planning Tools
A bridal show offers you one of the best shopping options as a
new Bride-to-be—an event not to be missed when it’s in town! At
the show, you will meet local vendors--first hand--all in one
day and in one place. Take a friend or relative with you, or
better yet, take your future spouse. Be smart and do some
pre-planning before you head to the show. Discuss your
expectations for your wedding so that you and your fiancée are
on the same page when speaking to vendors. Next, write down
questions or take notes with you so you can be prepared to ask
questions right on the spot. Last, go with the attitude of
gathering as much information as you can. Securing a wedding
service at the show is unlikely, but be prepared because some of
the best deals are found at the show if you book on that day.
The vendors will stock their booths with samples, photos,
special packages, trinkets, brochures, delicious cakes and
sometimes entrée mini-portions served by caterers. The tuxedo
rental shops will have tuxedos for you to touch and feel
(instead of just a photo in a brochure). The sales reps will
talk with you about what to expect, how to rent the products,
popular trends, rental rates and how/when to return items. You
will find booths displaying real jewelry, floral arrangements,
videos of real weddings, and be able to sit inside a limousine
or carriage. Vendors who also participate at these shows could
include teeth whitening companies, real estate companies,
insurance companies, and even quick-tanning companies.
Here are some smart tips before you head to the show:
1) Wear comfortable shoes.
2) Bring your own sturdy tote bag if you have one.
3) Bring cash/credit cards just in case.
4) Bring your appointment calendar.
5) Make labels with your name, address, phone number.
6) Attend the free fashion show.
7) Pick up free wedding magazines.
8) Enter contests to win a Honeymoon.
Shows in January and February are the busiest shows of the
year—go early and buy your tickets online if you can. Most of
all have fun--hundreds of vendors are waiting to be of service
to you.

Our Mission:
Our Mission: "Big Blend Magazine is a company based on the belief that education is the most formidable weapon that can be waged against fear, ignorance and prejudice.
It is our belief that education starts at
home and branches outward. Education leads to travel, and
travel leads to understanding, tolerance, and appreciation
of cultures and customs different to our own, and ultimately
to world peace. Our company is further based on the
principle that networking, communication, and helping others
to promote and market themselves leads to financial
stability; thus paving the way to better education, travel,
and the spirit of giving back to the community." |
